NAWOJ TO SIGN AN MOU WITH PLAN INTERNATIONAL

PLAN International, an organization keen on advancing the rights of children, especially the Girl Child, is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists on the ASPIRE Project.

The project, which is being implemented in Sokoto and Bauchi State, has its objective to influence and advocate for policy reforms on the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights of the girl child. PLAN International needs the support of NAWOJ to amplify issues to the national level while providing technical support for Local Women Rights Organizations to influence these policies at the national level.

Earlier today, in a meeting with I AishatuI brahim, as the National Chairperson of NAWOJ, we discussed how collaborative efforts can be made to influence policies and advocate for the sexual and reproductive rights of the girl child.

The project has been on for four years and needs the support of NAWOJ to amplify issues to the national level while providing technical support for Local Women Rights Organizations to influence these policies at the national level.

I welcomed the partnership on behalf of NAWOJ, assured PLAN International that we have the structure for these plans to be implemented and reiterated there will be no hinges with it’s implementation.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work collaboratively towards the goal of improving sexual and reproductive health rights for the girl child. Both parties expressed optimism about the impact of their partnership and the potential for meaningful change through advocacy and policies.
