The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ FCT Chapter has concluded Plans with Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federal, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack and Management staff, to train 150 female. Journalists.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Didi Esther Walson -Jack While receiving the NAWOJ FCT delegation, with a high powered team of management staff commended the team for being the first to visit and truly enjoy and dance to the redeems of the Civil Service Anthem, a strong worded, lyrics song to motivate Nigerian Civil Servants to be the best and ordered an applaude for NAWOJ FCT.

Mrs Walson -Jack went down memory lane to note that during her hay days in FIDA Bayelsa, NAWOJ was a strong ally and she was glad to see that NAWOJ in the FCT was also doing very well.
The Head of Civil Service stated that NAWOJ’s request on training was not out of place but rather in line with one of the 6 Pillars of the Head of Service Which is Training and for which they are known.

She immediately ordered for the Director General ASCON to liase with NAWOJ on the modalities to see to the training of the 150 members of NAWOJ FCT.
Mrs Walson -Jack declared that NAWOJ has continued to serve as partners in progress, by amplifying what they do at the Office of the Head of Service.

She reeled out some of her achievements, including the international forthcoming training that will showcase international resource persons and keynote Speakers as well as the annual conference slated for 25/26 June 2025, with 5000 participants drawn from across the country and the 37 Heads of Services across the Country, the FCSSIP25 Pillars.
Speaking during the Visit, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, The Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, congratulated the Head of Service on a well-deserved appointment as the Head of Civil Service of the federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Your elevation to this prestigious position is not only a personal achievement but also an inspiration to many women across the country”, she stated.
According to Comrade Ita Ikpang “your commitment, dedication, and accomplishments so far in office have not gone unnoticed, and we celebrate you today as a symbol of excellence and resilience in public service”.
As NAWOJ, our mandate include to amplify the voices of women and promote gender equality in the media and beyond.
Today, we are here not just to felicitate with you but also to seek strategic collaboration with your office. We believe that together, we can create platforms that project the voices of women in leadership.
We are particularly keen on building a strong partnership that supports mutual goals: visibility for female leadership and inclusive development across all sectors.
We respectfully appeal to your esteemed office to consider sponsoring a two-day capacity-building training for 150 female journalists from various media houses in the FCT.
The theme of the training is “Workplace Diversification: Advancing Women Journalists’ Role in the Newsroom.” This initiative is designed to equip our members with the tools and strategies needed to thrive in their careers and contribute more meaningful.

We believe this training aligns with your ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity, professionalism, and gender balance within the civil service and across government institutions.
